Naturally the roof structure is the area that needs to withstand everything the British weather can throw at it - wind driven rain and snow, high and low temperatures and the effects of suns UV rays. Conservatory roofs are difficult to access, and because they are glazed home owners, window cleaners and maintenance companies are reluctant to undertake work on them. This is due to the fear of injury due to falling off or through the conservatory roof. Therefore maintenance tends to be sporadic and spotting early stages of deterioration is difficult.
Whatever the problem, Insu will either replace the faulty components such as glazing bars, roof crests or valleys, failed panels or sealed units. Or even replace the complete roof structure as it may be more appropriate and economical to do so considering all the inherent benefits of modern materials and design.
Rest assured that the works will complement the existing conservatory wall frames and structure.
The conservatory roof panels will be replaced by Insu high performance polycarbonate – lightweight, excellent insulation and relatively inexpensive or Insu high performance glass sealed units. Insu will discuss with you the options available and even the opportunity to upgrade to an insulated conservatory roof which could be as efficient as an insulated brick cavity wall for ultra low heating costs!
It is unusual that the sides of the conservatory will have to be completely replaced. Wooden window and door frames sometimes require expert repair work to usually bring the conservatory back to its former glory. A common problem with older conservatories is the sealed units breakdown causing misting; we will replace these with Insu high performance units. These units have the highest insulation available and surpass current insulation regulations.
